Dragons’ dominance continues, remain unbeaten in softball
Dallas continued it’s mastery of the Mid-Willamette Conference with wins against Woodburn (17-0), Lebanon (4-3) and Central/Falls City (15-0) this past week.
The defending state champion Dragons are now 8-0 in league and 15-0 overall. They are ranked number one in Class 5A by the OSAA.
Against the Panthers, Kaelyn Golden was 3 for 3 at the plate, while Kadence Morrison pitched three innings. She allowed one hit and struck out four.
Tougher competition is just ahead, however, as the Dragons are at third-ranked Silverton on Wednesday, and at fifth-ranked West Albany on Friday. Games are at 5 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., respectively.
As far as coach Brandi Jackson is concerned, she just wants to see more of the same when Dallas takes on the Foxes.
“I would like to see quality at bats and solid defense against Silverton,” Jackson said.
The win against the Warriors came against the state’s fourth-ranked teams. So for the Dragons, by Friday, they will have played three of the state’s best teams over a four-game stretch. All three games of these games were on the road.
