Rock god delivers at Indy show

Chances are the energy unleashed during Jennifer Batten and Full Steam’s performance last night is still rocking Riverview Park in Independence. That’s what happens when Batten, a certifiable rock god, comes calling.

Bratten earned her lofty title by touring for years with Michael Jackson. She was alongside Jackson when he performed at Super Bowl XXVII’s halftime show, the highest rated television show in history at the time.

Batten also played with Jeff Beck and has released several solo albums.

Full Steam, which joined forces with Batten in 2019, consists of Pat Yadon, Norm Whitehurst, Kevin Burkhart, Jim Beaty and Hannah DiMo.

Batten and company were here as part of the 2024 River’s Edge Summer Series. Next up is Taken by the Sky, Friday, 8 p.m.

Opening for the Fleetwood Mac tribute band is Rhythm & Business. They take to the stage at 6 p.m.
