Warming Centers open through Tuesday night

Warming Centers in Monmouth and Falls City will stay open through Tuesday night in response to cold weather that is gripping the area.

According to a release, the Monmouth Warming Center is at Community Life Church, and is open 24 hours a day. Please enter via the rear ramp or SW basement doors.

The Monmouth Center will remain open daytime hours as a day center.

Hours of operation are different in Falls City, where the Warming Center (Falls City Community Center) is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Entrance is through the west end of the Fire Hall.

Warm showers and meals are available at both locations.

Intake is 7-9 p.m. For the safety and courtesy of all guests, please check in during this time if possible. Call 503-949-4987 for an after-hour intake or to arrange transportation.

Transportation can be arranged within rural Polk County if needed. The Cherriots bus system is providing free rides to and from the warming centers when they are operating, Mondays through Saturdays.

Community Life Church is at 189 Monmouth Avenue S., in Monmouth.

Falls City Community Center is at 320 N. Main Street.
